anglais A surprisingly enjoyable affair that goes back in style to the old grotesques. There are some great movie references, some very funny scenes and cool worms. If it weren't for the unoriginality and a few deaf spots, I'm sure it would have been a star higher. ()

anglais If you can forgive this new creation from the cult Aardman animation studios for being a little infantile, this is quite a pleasant surprise. Flushed Out has pace, humor and solid overall production. But it certainly won’t become a milestone like some other animated movies, and it isn’t as polished and hilarious as its plasticine brothers, but it has an undeniable magic about it too. A sofa movie with a couple of good gags, an absurd screenplay and lots of great singing worms. Although intended more for a younger audience, this is a movie that you won’t suffer while watching it, in fact you’ll have a wonderful time - if only for the pleasant references to other pictures and books. anglais Flushed Away is a cartoon that I can say I'll be happy to watch again later on. Lots of ideas, jokes, funny characters and a really devilishly devised plan of the robber boss... Add to that the singing slugs, toad ninjas + mimes, references to classic Aardman films with Wallace (his jacket between the suits at the beginning) and Gromitt (we only get to see the poor guy’s head) as well as Chicken Run, a wink at Pixar and other omnipotence (a cockroach reading Kafka's “The Metamorphosis" - oh my!)... Thanks to all this, I didn't even mind that the story is a pretty ordinary fable about "how an abandoned mouse became not abandoned". I'm rounding up four stars and a bit for "Tom Jones" as well. ()

anglais It's so brisk, fun and original that I just can't help but like Flushed Away. Animated films are usually associated with the creation of some non-existent, extinct, future or inaccessible world full of strange and likeable characters, and their success largely depends on how funny and original the creators manage to portray that world, and I think this British animated comedy has done to perfection. The rat world fulfils everything necessary for an entertaining spectacle, and the main characters have so many adventures in their fight against incompetent and hilarious bad guys that the eighty-five minutes pass like water. From the position of a child, a clear five, to the point I regret that I myself have long since grown up... Nice 4*. ()

anglais I had as much fun as I did years ago. The characters are hilarious, the story isn’t boring and there are no cringey moments. The slugs were great. They had me laughing every time, especially when they started escaping. The film had a decent pace and the hour and a half rushed by like water down the sewer. ()

anglais In the movie, there are the best voices of famous actors, such as Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Ian McKellen, Bill Nighy, Jean Reno, or Andy Serkis, but if you watch the film in Czech, you won't get anything from it. When I was watching the movie, about halfway through, I realized that I had already seen it. This is not a good realization, and it only confirms the fact that the film is not exceptional or memorable in any way. It's just another animated film, with an abundance of rats, which Pixar utilized much better in their "Ratatouille". The humor is not that clever, there is some playing on grotesque, which must simply be done well, and the essence of the whole story is not extraordinary, playing with clichés such as the "unexpected" last-minute return, annoying intruder, ridiculous villain, etc. This is already a film for children, which they will probably enjoy, but do not let them watch it until they are still little.
