Lord Alan Cunningham (Anthony Steffen) is haunted by the memory of his dead wife Evelyn. He channels the trauma of his spouse's past affair by picking up red-headed prostitutes and subjecting them to vicious acts of torture in his decaying castle. He remarries in an attempt to recapture his fading sanity, but the arrival of his new wife spawns a series of sinister events. Bloodthirsty creatures strike at Sir Alan's family, killing them off one by one. As the violence escalates, Evelyn's tomb is discovered to be empty. The resurrected corpse descends upon the terrified Baron, beckoning him to join her in death. (Arrow Films)

The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave" definitely belongs to the better ones I have seen in the giallo genre, and let's be honest, it also features beautiful women who appear here. They are natural, sexy, and exciting. But in this case, the story also caught my attention, as at the end of the film, you have the feeling that you are watching something different than what you started watching an hour and three quarters ago. The finale then becomes a frantic game with the characters and the audience. ()

anglais I quite liked this Giallo, though it’s a bit hard to root for a hero who spends the first half of the film killing prostitutes, but the interesting way the story unfolds kept my attention and I liked the climax, not as much as The Red Queen Kills Seven Times, but I liked it. 7/10 ()
