anglais A brief look at the list of films that Alex Cox has been involved in immediately reveals that he is not a filmmaking ace but rather a second-rate filmmaker who mainly works on B-movies. However, in the 80s, he managed to fill movie theaters and create a unique phenomenon with just one title. He captured the mood and needs of young American audiences, and although film critics, diplomatically speaking, did not hide their reservations, his film Repo Man went from being an outsider to being a temporary king. Cox himself could not define what the success of the film consisted of, and in the end, he was never able to repeat it. His confusing story, accompanied by lingering punk, about a guy who tries his luck as a repo man after losing his job and faces the challenges of crazy scientists and aliens in his new role, has a clearly B-movie anchor. Therefore, I approached the film with the conviction that I would give up after a few minutes. Perhaps it was precisely the absence of expectations that ultimately caused me to not only finish the film but also reward it with 3 stars and an overall impression of 55%. It is definitely not a masterpiece, but if you embrace Cox's game, it can surprisingly work. However, considering its bizarreness, I would hesitate to recommend it to anyone... ()

anglais It's a strange movie, no doubt about it, but in its own strangeness, it is somehow consistent, so you feel that it actually makes sense. Nevertheless, you will be confused and won't understand what the poet wanted to say. And yes, that may be the reason why the film became cult. The whole concept of repo men is definitely interesting, at least. ()
