Maniacal techno-expert Travis Dane hijacks a train and converts it into a command center. He seizes control of a satellite super-weapon and threatens to destroy Washington, D.C., unless his one-billion dollar demand is met. Unfortunately for him, however, Casey Ryback happens to be on board, travelling with his niece, Sarah, and is the only man between Dane and the obliteration of three million people. français Rétrospectivement, je dirais que c'est probablement le meilleur film avec Steven Seagal qui vaille vraiment quelque chose. ()

anglais Probably the best Seagal movie. It has great action, brutal moves, fantastic music, and very good stunts. Additionally, the final scene in the war cemetery is very iconic. Casey Ryback standing in his shiny white uniform with his niece over her father's grave, it always occurs to me that we actually see Seagal in the last good shot, in the last good movie. ()

anglais If it weren't for the desperately uncharismatic and horribly overacting main villain, I'd give it another star, because the final result is not as tragic as could be expected from Seagal. What followed in his case is a different story. ()

anglais Return to a time when Steven Seagal didn't resemble an obese patient. In this stage of his life, we can still somewhat believe in his action abilities, but the script is, even within the realm of his lifelong career and what action movie viewers are accustomed to, somewhat shallow and extremely illogical. It's true that fans don't usually seek intelligence, originality, and believability in action spectacles, but even so, it's clearly below average. Under Siege wasn't a stunning piece of filmmaking, but it did manage to avoid significant logical inconsistencies and leaps. My overall impression is 20%. Action movie fans might add a star, and Seagal's fans might add a second one. ()

anglais Casey Fucking Rayback in a very decent sequel to Under Siege. There are some great lines in the film, Seagal is in top form, but the main villain is a terrible idiot and the script is at times awkward as hell. Poledouris' music and the work of the special effects team should be praised (the final train scene is very realistic and I dare say that nobody could have done it better today, in the age of digi effects).
