A picturesque square features two houses opposite to each other, one with a feather-cleaning shop, the other occupied by Hilda the dream-reader. These two are sworn enemies. Grandpa from the cleaning shop has discovered a hidden world of dreams in the quilts and learned how to filter out bad dreams. That leaves the dream-reader unemployed. Everybody in the neighborhood has nice dreams which need no dream-reading and advice. And if something bad happened to make it in the sleep, all you need to do is have your quilt cleaned and the bad dreams wind up locked in the cellar under the cleaning shop. But one day grandpa disappears and the entire cleaning family faces an adventure no one ever dreamed of. The fight with Ms Hilda, fight for dreams and with dreams themselves will climax in a magical pillow world right in the sheets. (texte officiel du distributeur)

anglais Original – yes. The camerawork – beautiful. Brabec is a camera pro, even though everything is a bit insanely oversaturated. And the overall execution is one big crazy joke. There’s a truckload of famous actors, but you can’t say they’re showcasing great performances. Quite the opposite. And the worst thing about it were those songs. I didn’t get this one at all… ()

anglais An insane amount of clashing colors, a lot of not-so-great performances, and kitschy costumes. The child cast is the biggest train wreck as I see it. Neither the little girl nor the little boy had much acting talent. It made the whole thing look artificial and awkward. A bunch of well-known names in one pile won't work miracles either. We have unnatural anti-actors on the set and quite good actors who have no chance to act properly. Those two don’t go together... at all. The only thing that keeps it alive is Lucie Bílá's singing. 1 star. ()

anglais One of the best modern musicals for children. The whole thing is so magically and sensitively stylized that I don't have a single problem with it. The trailer may be too bold, and it may thus lead a bored viewer in the wrong direction. Yet it's playful and colorful, Brabec works well with the individual characters, his wife ably seconded him as an artist and the whole thing fits together nicely. Nobody tries to be more than they're worth. Even Dara Rolins just shows off how good she looks and sings and everyone is happy. Bílá is cute, Roden is funny, Balzerová focused her favorite field of an old comic ... and Nikol Moravcová understood that she is like a picture (from a dream), and that's good enough. Surprisingly, the children also act decently, and the naive song lyrics are not awkward and actually manage to move the plot along. The 3D is definitely not distracting. ()

anglais I counted a total of three good moments - the songs “Schody" and “Peří, prach a broky" by Kabát and a short but irresistible dance by Bolek Polívka to the latter. Otherwise, nothing. The central melody is still somewhat catchy, but the lyrics are cringeworthy and meaningless, as is the plot (although the original idea is not bad), most of the actors and actresses are horribly goofy, the pastel kitsch design is quite nice to look at, but only for a while... F. A. Brabec is definitely not the Tim Burton of the Czech Republic and he should just stay a cameraman and listen to another director. ()
