Les aventures de Tom Jones, un bâtard recueilli et éduqué par le riche gentilhomme Allworthy, dans la haute société britannique du XVIIIe siecle. Tom se plaît à vivre agréablement dans le luxe et la volupté et passe le plus clair de son temps à séduire des jeunes filles et provoquer des bagarres.
