I think that Hollywood was making fun of The Three Musketeers a little bit in this one. Charlie Sheen had just finished Hot Shots!, put on a belt, some leather tights, a feathered hat and now he thinks I’ll just accept him in this serious role? Especially since he’s acting exactly like he was in Hot Shots!? If only the movie had at least made fun of it. I kept waiting for the moment the ice would break and it never happened. He was still acting unexceptionably seriously, wannabe funny and it made the movie into an unexceptionably annoying adaptation that I’ll be glad to forget. ()
A failed adaptation, which annoys you all the more, the harder the musketeers try to be unimpressed. I am not a devout fan of the original, but when watching Charlie Sheen's Aramis made me feel deeply sorry for Alexandre Dumas. ()
A dull product loaded with a bunch of clichés seen a thousand times. Alexandre Dumas must have been spinning in his grave. Don't bother with this version, watch Richard Lester's classic instead. ()
One for all and all in the name of Hollywood sparkle. If you can get over the fact that it has very little to do with Dumas’ original, you could find it quite entertaining. This version is much closer to the raucous slapstick family entertainment that in the style of Pirates from the Caribbean rather than to a serious historical adventure movie. Take it as it is or leave it. ()
