anglais n the 1990s, the Disney Renaissance era was marked by the successful continuation of Aladdin (1992) - The Return of Jafar (1994), which led to the opening of a Canadian Disney studio focused on direct-to-video films. One of such films was a Christmas special inserted as a flashback into Beauty and the Beast (1991). The original fairy tale is unlucky in a way that its brand is the status quo before the transformation of the beast into a prince, so the only way to write a sequel was to create a supposedly forgotten chapter from the main story (just so that the new film could be sold again as "Beauty and the Beast"). It doesn't make sense, and logic took a very long hike, but preschoolers and die-hard fans will certainly not miss out on such a travesty. ()
