Mary (2017)

anglais McKenna Grace was brilliantly cast, and you believe that she's a genius girl. But perhaps an even bigger surprise is Chris Evans, who is not just a muscular hunk but can handle even a more complicated role. It is touching, but in a way that the film entertained me, I wanted to know how it would turn out, and I couldn't tear myself away from it.

Le Roi Arthur : La légende d'Excalibur (2017)

anglais The plot has a great drive in places, but I was still bothered at times by the way Guy Ritchie shot the scenes. Not only will the viewer get a little lost, but the effect isn't that great. Suddenly I had the feeling that it was really overly embellished, nothing much more. But then came the special effects scenes or some action sequences, and I was amazed.

Baby Boss (2017)

anglais It's not a particularly great animated film, and it doesn't have a particularly original story, but Alec Baldwin, even if only with his voice, was great in the lead role, and his mini-boss character is just fantastic. The rest of it is pretty ordinary, but Alec pulls it off brilliantly thanks to his sense of humor and timing. Yeah, the humor is good here.

affiche

Security (2017)

anglais Antonio Banderas and Ben Kingsley do exactly what you would expect them to do, but their faces make the film a little more interesting. It's actually not too bad. A siege of a mall where a new security guard has just joined. It's action-packed, it's a bit gritty in places, but it's a safe bet. Fine by me.

The Possession Experiment (2016)

anglais The Possession Experiment isn't even a missed opportunity, as this wasn't much of an opportunity overall. Even if the screenwriters tried to inject a light dose of originality, it didn't really translate into the film, and the killing by the acting performances was the final straw. The cheesy jokes that accompany the film could also have been spared by the creators because there's nothing funny about them. They are rather boring, like the rest of the film.

affiche

The Forest (2016)

anglais The Forest is a film with great potential, a film that could create a place for legends, not only in real life but in the film world as well. And although the filmmakers tried very hard to make it have the right WTF effect at the end, unfortunately, the excitement doesn't really come, and it's pretty gross in places. There is not a single character - except perhaps the Japanese ones - that I like in any way. Very much a missed opportunity.

Red-Headed Baby (1931)

anglais A very good animation for its time, which even today doesn't have many flaws when it comes to movement. On top of that, it has quite a catchy song that accompanies you throughout the whole time. The character design is kind of strange, maybe even somewhat bizarre, but it must be admitted that it has a concept and that it still captivates today.

Crazy Day (1978)

anglais Robert Zemeckis made a good movie about the Beatles without the Beatles. Sure, this is mostly about Beatlemania, but it's also about their music, which just still sounds as beautiful as when I first heard it. But it's interesting to see how much they drove people crazy, and not just the girls we mostly hear screaming at their concerts.

Oceans Rising (2017)

anglais It annoys me when B-movie writers choose a subject that just can't look good with a small budget. This is just such a case. It's clear that in the end, it will turn into an interior drama where we won't see much of the water, and we'll hope that the characters come up with some crazy idea to stop the disaster. That's all this is.

Redivider (2017)

anglais The visual aspect of the film is quite good - actually, it's the best thing that Kill Switch offers because it's not something you'll watch for Oscar-worthy performances. But maybe you'd want a slightly better story, which unfortunately doesn't materialize. The POV perspective doesn't quite do it for me in movies unless it's a pornographic film.
