I recently saw the remake, but John Waters showed me that I don't need to fear his films. I thought he would be a bit crazy, and he is, but he shows that he is a very capable director who can successfully handle comedy - musical comedy, at that - in a truly unforgettable way. Plus, he chose great actors with which to do it. Divine doesn't click with me, but in this case, he/she isn't as annoying as usual. ()
