A thriller based on the story by Iva Hercíková with international casts headed by Karel Roden and Jürgen Prochnow. An elderly couple could enjoy a nice autumn of their lives if it had not been for the crevice in the wall that disclosed a secret that changed their lives forever. A secret that has become a nightmare. A secret of the past... Can the past kill? One mild and rainy morning, a couple of lovers enters a deserted house she chose as the place for their date. It could have been quite an ordinary date. When viewing the house, they enter a room where there is just a little window and one door. The door closes all of a sudden... an eye watches them through a crevice in the wall. The eye does not augur well! (texte officiel du distributeur)

anglais If this film could evoke as much terror and participation as it evokes unwanted laughter and awkwardness, it would be a historical event. There is no point in rejoicing that Kohout is not entirely a blunderer in terms of the visuals, given that the characters speak and act unconceptually and misguided for 80 minutes. A terribly boring and troubled film in which there is no emotion and tension. The dedication to Hitchcock seems like a cynical burst of coffins after an infernally failed funeral. ()

anglais I guess the Czechs are not really capable of making a proper thriller. With the exception of films like In the Shadow. Eye in the Wall is such a wasted opportunity, where some individual scenes are great, but as a whole, the film hardly goes anywhere. Interestingly chosen actors get lost in a story that has no proper flow. ()
