This Polish crime drama set in pre-war Warsaw in terms of quality is easily on a par even with the best gangster series made in the "West". There is no shortage of suspense, violent scenes and treats us with a harsh and unexpected plot twist. The omnipresent oppressive and gloomy atmosphere is mainly built up by the music and the striking visuals. I was so intrigued by the subject matter that I'd like to read the book this was based on.
