anglais The 5th episode of Insidious is surprisingly the most financially profitable of the series, so it might not be the last, but qualitatively it is the weakest. The 4th episode wasn't worth much and this one is on a similar level. Once James Wan got away from the franchise, the quality went down significantly (I'd rather see another Conjuring or Crooked Man). The direction this time was taken by debutant Patrick Wilson, one of the leads, so you can’t expect miracles from an inexperienced man. Plot-wise, I wasn't too interested, there are a few scares, but they're cheesy and didn't work for me. The creepy and dark atmosphere has almost disappeared, the camera games and sound effects weren’t impressive, there's a lack of interesting ideas. In short, this episode didn't bring anything new, just a recycling of what I've seen. On the plus side, the craftsmanship is good, so in this dearth of ghost stories, at least on a good technical level, this is sufficient, but at the same time unnecessary. 5/10. ()
