The Pact

Bille August has much better movies under his belt than the biopic The Pact. He reveals his directorial skills here too, but it is not a masterpiece. The movie depicts a rather interesting period in the life of Karen Brixen and the young, gifted poet Thorkild Bjørnvig, whom the former, a famous Danish writer, takes under her wing to help him make the best of his talent. However, the whole story is told in a somewhat uninspiring way. However, there are several moral questions to ponder upon here, which makes the two hours I spent here far from a waste of time.
