Welcome to Six Mile Hill, a quiet Irish village where the only claim to fame is the dubious legend that Bram Stoker once spent a night in the local pub. A group of road workers, led by a father and son who are constantly at each other's throats, must live through the night when they accidentally awaken an ancient Irish vampire. anglais Ancient vampire Abhartach begins to terrorize a small Irish town. An enjoyable vampire horror comedy that had the potential to be much better, but despite slight disappointment, I am relatively satisfied. I liked the mythology surrounding the ancient vampire, older than Dracula, who has the power to suck blood from people from a distance, which is quite original. The characters are likeable, the humour works half the time, but there were a few moments to laugh. (“Did he try to bite you like a V..? Like a Cunt?”) and the gore was relatively restrained (except for a ripped-out heart and a severed leg) – although blood occasionally splatters, there is nothing explicitly graphic. I liked the soundtrack and the appearance of the vampire is also cool, although it is revealed only in the final minutes. For killing a boring evening, it is a likeable genre film. 6/10. ()
