anglais The story of Die schöne Lügnerin is set in the period of the Congress of Vienna, the height of the Empire. Romy plays a sympathetic maid who has her hands full with lace-ups and going out on dates, with nothing but delightful dialogue and fabulous serenades flowing from her lips. So, not in spite of, but literally by default, she continued her systematic mapping of the Old Golden Days, which had just begun with the Congress and ceased only on the eve of World War I. Anyone who dares to mistakenly think that this is a variation on Marischko's legacy and would think of a Christine-style co-production would recognize the true state of affairs the moment they meet the stuttering Josef Meinrad, the sharp-tongued classic Hans Moser and the formerly handsome Rolf Wanka, who certainly did not lose his charisma in his advanced age.
