anglais So far, the worst part of this series confirms what the previous The Tiger Hunt showed - once we are supposed to watch Watson, it is a boring misery (this time with double the runtime), which is saved only by Holmes' arrival. Not because Vitaly Solomin is a bad Watson (quite the opposite), but because he and Livanov's Holmes form such a great duo and the show is based only on their performances. The Hound of the Baskervilles is (as everyone already knows after a thousand and one adaptations) largely Watson's affair, and the poor doctor has been put in the way of many strange individuals by the Russians - the shot Sir Henry (Genry), who resembles Uncle Pepin from Cutting It Short, the strange Dr. Mortimer, the stranger Barrymore and the completely goofy Mrs. Barrymore. One actor performs worse than the other and, especially in the first part, very often nothing happens at all, just, for example, sitting motionless at the table, mysteriously silent, staring, drinking for a long time or hesitating to answer. I would have given a star less if had (fortunately) not come alive again with Holmes. ()
