Ingmar Bergman has been active in film production for almost 55 years and is also one of the leading experts in Sweden on the silent film era. His experiences as an artist and a film director are absolutely unique. Ingmar Bergman is therefore a never-ending source of information and inspiration. The purpose with The Voice of Bergman is to let Ingmar Bergman himself get to speak. The film doesn´t include any extracts or scenes from Bergman´s films, nor is it accompanied by music ---there´s just the voice of Bergman. The Voice of Bergman is an 87 minutes long conversation where Bergman talks about his relation to the art of film, the music and his enchantment for the close-up. He expresses his passion for filmmaking and filmmakers. It is a journey into the heart of one of the greatest filmmakers ever. The Voice of Bergman is about a true film lover who explores the history of film and its significance, a film for everybody who is interested in the beautiful and lunatic world of film. The Voice of Bergman consists of eight acts: The Word and The Image, The Illusion of Time, The Music of the Close-up, Focus of Pain, Shards from the Mirror, The Cinema on Fårö, The Insanity of Film and The Great Mystery.
