Dark Shadows

It's much more complicated than that. You can't fully appreciate this series without at least a minimal knowledge of the original gothic soap opera, which aired two films (House of Dark Shadows and Night of Dark Shadows) between 1966 and 1971. The original series is still a nostalgic hit, and this revival is really just an homage to it. (03/02/2009)

I remember that shortly before puberty, I quite enjoyed this Dracula series in relatively unwatchable hours at night on Nová, and how much it saddened me when everything needlessly got tangled up and remained open-ended in the final episode. As I found out on IMDb, another season was never made, and although some storylines are suitable for an open ending, I am sorry that I will never find out how it actually turned out with beautifully dark Barnabas played by Ben Cross.
