En cherchant l'identité du chauffard qui a fauché et tué son mari, une veuve impulsive se lie d'amitié avec une excentrique optimiste... pas si claire qu'elle en a l'air. (Netflix)

Season 1 (2019) (S01)

anglais The first season was filmed quite well. I just wish it would keep up the high standard throughout. There was a weird drop in quality halfway through the season. Fortunately, everything got back on track again. Christina Applegate was excellent in her role (she’s one of my long-time favorites) and Linda Cardellini did not fall behind (at times I even thought she was better). I consider this to be a well-made first season. ()

Pilote (2019) (S01E01)

anglais With the usual character introductions and plot setup, I'm giving the pilot episode my standard three stars. The shift to a female perspective was refreshing and enjoyable. However, there was a certain spark missing, something that would have elevated it to a higher rating. It was a decent beginning, but I'm hoping for more laughs next time. ()

Peut-être que je suis cinglée (2019) (S01E02)

anglais I was initially hoping for a heftier dose of humor, but the creators leaned more towards drama. The humor served up was on the bitter side, yet the dramatic storyline was compelling. Anyway, props to both main actresses for their performances. ()

Tout est de ma faute (2019) (S01E03)

anglais The unexpected turn of events during the memorial/birthday party, complete with all its quirks, compelled me to bump up my rating to five stars. It turned out to be the most amusing episode yet, and the conclusion was the perfect icing on the cake! ()

Y retourner (2019) (S01E04)

anglais In the previous episode, a "wild" celebration of the deceased Ted's birthday took place, this time I really enjoyed getting to know bambi88. If a man directed this series, it couldn't be as funny, he wouldn't be able to tame this emotional rollercoaster. Well, America is America, here bambi would have to explain not only her relationship with a married man but also her relationship with extremism :-) ()

Besoin d'un break (2019) (S01E05)

anglais What a letdown. The trip to Palm Springs was a lot of wasted potential. The names of the workshops got me excited and I was ready to have some good laughs but the episode failed to deliver on that front. The creators mainly used this episode to complete the politically correct lineup. ()

Oh, mon Dieu. (2019) (S01E06)

anglais This episode certainly didn't impress me with its storyline, both sons were punchworthy, and if it weren't for Shandy, I probably wouldn't have laughed much. ()

Ce que je peux encaisser (2019) (S01E07)

anglais Another underwhelming episode. After the fourth episode, the show is starting to lose its comedic drive. The creators had a chance to really kick it off here, but the potential was shamefully wasted. ()

3 minutes d'espoir (2019) (S01E08)

anglais The eighth episode was quite entertaining in its inconspicuous way, and a large part of the "blame" for this result lies with Linda Cardellini. Her Judy did her best among those millstones. :-) ()

Pour être honnête (2019) (S01E09)

anglais The creators skillfully balanced humor and drama within the thirty-minute runtime, ensuring that not a single moment felt wasted. ()

Tire-toi (2019) (S01E10)

anglais The final one struck me as even better than the last episode. Once again, humor was abundant (I particularly relished Jen's time by the pool with the neighbor), and the dramatic plot kept pace with the comedic elements, making it a fitting farewell to the first season. ()

Season 2 (2020) (S02)

anglais I enjoyed the second season slightly more than its predecessor. Humor was never in short supply, the dramatic plotline was perhaps a bit weaker, but it worked for me overall. Linda Cardellini clearly surpassed Christina Applegate in her acting performance this time, which is not to suggest that the latter one wasn’t excellent. I hope I live to see a third season. ()

Tu sais ce que tu as fait (2020) (S02E01)

anglais The second season kicked off on a much better note for me than the first one. This time around, there wasn't an overwhelming amount of drama, but I found myself laughing more. The running time feels just right for this series, preventing the creators from drowning the show in unnecessary filler. ()

Tu ne peux pas vivre comme ça (2020) (S02E03)

anglais The third episode took a noticeable dip in quality compared to its predecessors; to be frank, it felt like nothing of consequence occurred. The freezer debacle could have easily been condensed into a brief five-minute scene, with the rest left out entirely. The storyline felt hollow, but the saving grace was the performances of the main duo, and I welcomed Shandy's return. Finally, a child character I find likeable. ()

Entre toi et moi (2020) (S02E04)

anglais Following a lackluster previous episode, the fourth episode sees bodies vanish, birds meet their end, and neighbors caught in bizarre situations, injecting fresh energy into the plot. Coupled with a healthy dose of humor, this revitalization earns the episode higher marks. Shandy rules! ()

Tu dois payer le prix (2020) (S02E05)

anglais Yet another excellent episode. I can't deny it, if there's one thing the series creators truly excel at, it's those gripping dialogues between the bereaved and the murderers of their loved ones. They never fail to captivate me. So far, this season has left me thoroughly satisfied. ()

Je ne vais pas t'obliger (2020) (S02E06)

anglais The sixth episode brought even more laughs for me compared to the previous one. Drama took a backseat this time, making room for a heavy dose of humor, both overt and subtle. I found myself laughing out loud at the ending without any reservations. ()

Si seulement tu savais (2020) (S02E07)

anglais There was a bit too much contemplation infused with faith and melancholy on the beach for my taste. However, the episode still delivered an intriguing plot and some good humor. I still enjoy the lady who surprisingly still has the same hairstyle, and it was a delight to see Frances Conroy back on screen after a while. ()

Il fallait que ce soit toi (2020) (S02E08)

anglais This episode didn't quite live up to my expectations. I found there were too many break-ups and reunions, which detracted from an otherwise solid storyline. On the upside, Detective Perez's perpetually grumpy demeanor once again provided some entertaining moments, as it always does. ()
