anglais Comprehensive novels like this one beg to be made into a series. And I'm thrilled. This new Vanity Fair is a far cry from the last major adaptation starring Reese Witherspoon. It doesn't contradict and it has a different atmosphere and more time for the many plot twists. Becky Sharp is a classic heroine whose portrayal is a great challenge for any actress. Following her life story against the backdrop of the Napoleonic Wars makes somewhat higher demands on the audience by its very nature, as this period is not often used in any genre. And while every story has its light and dark sides, and as ambitious as Becky is, her friend Amelia Sedley is a virtue in her own right. And yet they both form a perfect picture of the same epoch. A treat for lovers of sweeping novels. ()

anglais I wasn't very enthusiastic about the first episode, but then it caught my attention and I quite enjoyed the serial form of the classic historical novel "Vanity Fair". I give the filmmakers a thumbs up for their successful adaptation. (75%) ()
