Le Jeu

The Italians have managed to create a very good and appealing script. How else can you explain that more than ten countries have already made their own version of this film based on it, and more are planning to do so. There should be an English-language one among them. In France, they didn't invent anything new either, sticking almost perfectly to the Italian model. And I think that's a good thing, because the script is of such high quality that it doesn't stop entertaining me, perhaps even after watching all the remakes. The same problems, the same characters, the same crazy idea. The only things that change are the names of the characters, the food served in the evening, the jokes told, and a few minor cultural differences. And that's probably what I enjoy most about it. Anyway, I liked the French version, a strong 4 stars. (11/07/2020)

I saw Nothing to Hide about a year ago and was so intrigued that I started looking for the original Italian film Perfect Strangers, which the French had obviously ripped off without any invention of their own. If that wasn't the case, I would certainly rate this film better. After all, there are certainly countless ways to develop this excellent theme or to make it more interesting. (65%) (25/10/2020)

Comme il s’agit d’un remake tout à fait fidèle du film italien Perfetti sconosciuti, je ne peux pas lui donner la note maximale. Tous les participants à ce dîner (qui n’ont « rien à cacher ») voient leurs secrets et leurs mensonges progressivement révélés, et c’est dans ces révélations que Le Jeu n’apporte rien de nouveau. Il n’en reste pas moins un incroyable voyage émotionnel et un excellent « film de conversation ». Ce qui rend cette version différente, c’est l’énergie et les performances des acteurs français, sinon c’est exactement la même chose. Cependant, j’étais tenue en haleine même si je savais ce qui allait se passer, donc ce remake mérite vraiment une bonne note. Il est possible que celui qui verra cette version en premier soit aussi secoué que je l’ai été lorsque j’ai vu la version italienne. Quoi qu’il en soit, les deux films sont excellents parce qu’ils s’appuient sur un très bon sujet, un très bon scénario et de très bons acteurs... Mais pour moi, c’est celui qui est arrivé le premier qui a gagné. (03/01/2019)
