Une femme brune erre à Hollywood dans la nuit, perdue et choquée après un accident de voiture. Elle trouve refuge dans une maison qu’elle croit inhabitée. Betty, une candide actrice fraîchement débarquée dans la ville, vient s’y installer et découvre la jeune accidentée, manifestement amnésique.
