In this laugh-out-loud, delightful Israeli comedy, two entrepreneurial friends who want to avoid Tel Aviv’s strict parking laws devise an absurd idea — create a new country called Herod Islands and open an embassy for it so they can enjoy private parking downtown. To their surprise, the idea is a huge success, more so than they could ever have imagined, and they suddenly find themselves way over their heads when state and local authorities rush to adopt and embrace their imaginary embassy. The only trouble is the tough and highly skeptical local inspector, who continues to stalk them, jeopardizing their diplomatic status. (Miami Jewish Film Festival)
