On The Edge

In April 1944 two Slovaks Rudolf Vrba and Alfred Wetzler managed to escape from the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in German-occupied Poland. They reported about the mass murders of Jews that were taking place there and shared the information with the world and the large community of Hungarian Jews that were threatened with deportation and death. The story came alive through six ultra runners who in the morning of the 21st April 2017 began their 170k long run on the Slovak-Polish border to commemorate this important event and it changed their lives forever.
