Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert

This modern take on the legendary rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar did not exactly impress me. Never mind stage production and sci-fi costumes, as unfortunately, I couldn't stomach the desperate vocal performances. I was horrified the moment Brandon Victor Dixon sang for the first time as Judas. John Legend as Jesus didn't do much for me either. Sara Bareilles as Mary Magdalene was a bit better, but I was disappointed that her vocal expression did not show any tenderness. I liked Alice Cooper the best. I can’t really give this a good review because I’ve seen it done better. Although Brandon Victor Dixon somewhat redeemed his reputation with a successful final performance. (60%) (04/05/2021)
