Le Temps des premiers

The Russians can’t help it but show some typical Russian traits in this film. Still, it is a great movie. If you can survive the first 40 political minutes, you will get to see a visual heaven that brought me into a blissful oblivion. It is fascinating that it is the Russians who are capable of taking their time and creating visuals that are as great as those made by for example the Americans. And if you manage to suffer through the socialistic 40 minutes, you will get a nice film experience. (10/02/2018)

To make it more suspenseful, the film could have easily been at least half an hour shorter - some passages are really long. There is probably nothing much to fault in terms of visuals and sound, but all the pathos and patriotic crap might make those with weaker stomachs close to throwing up. To make matters worse, the comrades even applauded themselves for a job well done, in typical American imperialist style. I openly admit that I am pretty allergic to such scenes. (55%) (07/05/2022)
