Kidd obtient du Roi William III que celui-ci le nomme protecteur d'un navire chargé de trésors. Charles Laughton is such a talented actor that he can beautifully carry even in this otherwise somewhat rough pirate drama, especially when the scenes on the ship aren't particularly great. Interiors are what this film excels in, and it benefits greatly from the acting mastery not only of the main protagonist but also of the other characters.
