Wunder der Wirklichkeit

On December 22, 1991 a plane crashed at the Hoher Nister near the city of Heidelberg. The 28 passengers on board all died. Among the casualties was Martin Kirchberger’s camera team who had wanted to shoot a satirical short film with the title “Bunkerlow”. Martin Kirchberger was known as the initiator of spectacular art events and director of short mock documentaries. His sudden death did not only shock the world of art but also the documentary film maker Thomas Frickel, who put together a very personal portrait of his friend using recovered material and recent interviews in a montage.
