I can imagine that a similar story could work quite well in a book edition. But in the film version, this looks like an unbelievable farce, and I also have the feeling that those actors are completely unsuited for their roles. I simply detest enjoying samurai themes like this when the film actually doesn't have a proper reason for them to be there.
