Building a house in the course of just one week with the skill and elan of Pat and Mat, or never plan a house-warming party on Friday 13th. Mistakes can be found here, but who cares? It’s not often you get to see such beautiful and ingeniously layered gags. Better sequences can definitely be found in Keaton’s other movie escapades. But as a whole, One Week is balanced better. And more than one gag was ahead of its time. For instance the “censored" soap retrieving scene.
