As a young boy, Count Erno Blaskovich witnessed his father being betrayed and murdered and his ancestral lands being seized. Twenty-five years later, Erno is a handsome rouge with a taste for beautiful women and a talent for training horses and losing money. With a smoldering desire for vengeance never far from his mind, Erno is facing financial catastrophe unless he can somehow buy and train a winning horse. Enter Kincsem, a wild young mare everyone agrees can never be tamed or trained to race. Erno immediately joins his fortunes to this horse, and they become two uncontrollable spirits who must somehow conquer their own natures and the odds. Erno knows this may be his final gamble as he will either obtain fortune and revenge or plunge himself into total ruin. (Cleveland International Film Festival)
