Après un dernier contrôle médical rassurant, Offred est autorisée à rentrer chez les Waterford. Serena se montre inhabituellement courtoise et attentionnée avec la jeune femme. Elle va jusqu'à l'installer dans son salon pour lui éviter de se fatiguer en prenant l'escalier qui mène à sa petite chambre. Encore sous le choc de ce qu'elle pensait être une fausse couche, Offred est troublée par une visite de Nick qui, bien que fraîchement marié, lui avoue ses sentiments pour la première fois. La pression sur les épaules du commandant Waterford est grande. Certains de ses coreligionnaires semblent douter de sa capacité à achever dans les temps la construction du Centre Rachel et Leah... Finally an episode that I really enjoyed. It brought back the great atmosphere of the first season, and I appreciated the flashbacks for focusing on the intriguing events surrounding the Waterfords rather than tugging at my heartstrings. Surprisingly, I wasn't bored by the scenes with Offred and Serena either. The ending was a definite highlight — too bad Ofglen couldn’t shout out a striking anti-government slogan.
