Hobbyhorse Revolution

Playing with hobbyhorses is a traditional children's play, but today's teenage girls have brought the scene to a whole new level. They are unofficially organized, they are online and have the attitude of punk rocking anarchists. They are serious – and an ever-growing international group of thousands of girls. Hobbyhorse Revolution is a joyful and adventurous film in the interface between reality and imagination. Through the documentary material shot during a period of three years, selected animation sequences and the hobbyists' own videos we experience a portrait of a hobby that defies categories and of young people who are brave enough to be true to themselves.
