The starting point are the title sweets. From simple colored candies to extravagant desserts associated with the most refined sensual experiences. Unfortunately, the lengthy Israeli-Palestinian conflict has even had an impact on the world of pralines. It may sound odd, but Joseph Pitchadze's film shows that running a pastry shop can certainly be a political gesture. The dispute concerns an Arab Israeli named Salah and a Jewish Israeli named Klausner. At stake is a new confectionery near Jerusalem. To make matters worse, Salah's partner is a German with an unlimited budget. Their war for influence explodes almost instantly, and two mysterious "agents," Yuli and August, become most powerful Israeli weapon. (New Horizons International Film Festival)
