March 2012. A charter bus barrels down route 80 weaving a path through the landmark destinations in Alabama that define the Civil Rights movement. Looking out the windows are leaders of the non-violent resistance, prominent members of congress, and two dozen Kennedy family members. Together, they pass through the blood stained battlegrounds of the deep south and pay tribute to those who sacrificed everything in the fight for justice. They walk the streets of Selma and Montgomery to trace the steps of the foot soldiers who came before them. From the rotunda of the state capitol to the home of Martin Luther King, Jr., this diverse group of travelers – a mix of ages, races and backgrounds – is here to chronicle the struggles and the victories that brought about social change in America, while reflecting on our nation's ongoing pursuit of equal rights. These moving scenes set the stage for a riveting documentary featuring previously untold stories and intimate portraits from the Civil Rights era.

March to Justice, an exclusive special premiering February 25, 2013 on Investigation Discovery, will recount the drama of the Civil Rights movement through a unique pilgrimage commemorating the 1965 march from Selma to Montgomery, which led to the passage of the historic Voting Rights Act that same year. In compelling first person recollections from those traveling on the bus – Civil Rights luminary Rep. John Lewis, former aide to RFK John Seigenthaler, 16th Street Baptist Church bombing survivor Carolyn McKinstry, and child activist Ruby Bridges – we'll hear about the violence, the dedication, the tenuous negotiations and finally the victory. We'll also be privy to experience of three generations of the Kennedy family, as Ethel, Kerry and a host of grandchildren march over the historic Edmund Pettus Bridge and share the rich history that unfolded there with those who lived through it. March to Justice tells a climactic chapter of our nation's history in a fresh way – through candid conversation, moving reunions and personal revelations. (texte officiel du distributeur)
