In a small village in the Black Forest, Peter and Lisbeth are in love. But things aren't so simple. Lisbeth's father is a rich glassworker, while Peter is a poor miner. To become respectably rich, Peter bargains with Michel the Hollander, who turns Peter's heart into stone. Now ruthless, Peter races toward money and power. (Busan International Film Festival)

anglais Rather a starkly presented fairytale romance concealing a pretty original story. The only downside here was the excessive running time and sometimes needlessly dragged out contemplations of the main protagonists, but otherwise it worked well. It isn’t until the end that you are given some food for thought, making you realize that this wasn’t a fairytale after all. ()
