For his long feature film American Me, Edward James Olmos directed real gang members and convicts in Los Angeles. The documentary Lives in Hazard follows Olmos while shooting his film and shows how youngsters in the gangs hang around together and how they become men within the prison system of California: life in a world where opportunities are scare and guns plentiful.
