Mayer Jr., nephew of the general director of "Árkádia", a toy factory, spreads the rumour that all female employees who are getting married will be made redundant. Kovács Kató and Kerekes Pál, two clerks of small means, use the half-rate available for those on a honeymoon for their trip to Italy, although they are not yet married. Their journey is a source of little conflicts such as having to share a bedroom, something the girl refuses to do, seeing that the young man only grudgingly puts up with the inconveniences of the journey. In the meantime, Kató learns that there is no ban on any marriage at the company. Kerekes, who doesn't speak any Italian, is caught unawares by being taken to the registrar's office. The couple's pretended marriage now becomes real. (texte officiel du distributeur)
