anglais In the years when Universal horror production focused almost exclusively on B-movies (mostly good ones), a movie emerged that not only did not seem like another helping of the same, but quite freshly combined the classic werewolf theme with a crime story and a romance novel. At the same time, it also offered a fresh cast and not just the same old recycled, once famous names. Especially lovely is the charming twenty-one-year-old "wolf cub" June Lockhart and Sara Hayden who plays the aunt is also wonderful. Given its length, the movie doesn’t have the chance to get boring, so the only bad thing about Yarbrough's movie is the “pretension" of a culmination which becomes clear from about the third minute of the footage. Despite the year of its release, She-Wolf of London can be boldly included among Universal's still-unsurpassed productions from the thirties, although it does not quite achieve the quality of the “showpieces" of this golden era.
