Best friends Naz and Maalik roam the streets of their sun-filled Brooklyn neighbourhood the day after spending the night together. As they go shopping, resell lottery tickets to make some cash, and pray at their local mosque, the two black muslims attract the attention of a new FBI agent, who starts to track their movements. Fearing that they may be outed as gay, the boys get entangled in small lies, which put extra pressure on their burgeoning affair, as well as their close community. In his thoroughly researched feature debut, newcomer Jay Dockendorf explores the daily life of ordinary yet under represented teens in post 9/11 Brooklyn with warm tenderness, authenticity and seductive charm.
