In the Shadow of War

Although the Bosnian war ended before they were born, the film's young heroes face its consequences every day. Like thousands of other children, Ante, Ilja, Magdalena and Elvis were born during the war or shortly afterwards in the former Yugoslavia. They live in orphanages, with parents suffering from post-traumatic stress or with the consequences of having witnessed the murder of their loved ones. Can they cope with the past and open a new chapter in their lives? This film by the Scott sisters demonstrates that war does not end with a ceasefire. (One World)
