Well, that was quite some bullshit! FilmBooster would surely accept a documentary that addressed its weaknesses (which the film mentions, that today everyone has an opinion about everything) and its strengths (for me, this database was a very useful guide when I was about 16 and started watching movies, and I would have never heard about many excellent but lesser known films, certainly not from the articles of those self-important, irrelevant, senile critics). But that’s not what this is about. This sloppy documentary says NOTHING about how FilmBooster works. Instead of that, we hear the opinion of people who clearly have no idea about it. And inviting unsuspecting users to the screening of an art film and then convincing them to say something about it on camera, and secretly rejoice when the intentions of the authors play out (“they are not able to say anything about it, they are stupid!”)? That is hopelessness of the worst kind. (30/10/2016)
