Fernando Eimbcke - So Yong Kim: Carta 3

Inspired by an old photograph of his father, Fernando Eimbcke engages in an intimate visual collage of a time that he would prefer to forget. We find ourselves among people, directly in the fi lmmaker's family. What is more, we watch the act of uncovering a painful memory. The private realm becomes the main subject of all the letters. All of a sudden, we are more clearly anchored in the real world. Feelings are associated with memory – another recurring theme. In the end, we move from an all-encompassing nature to man.
