Causa Carnivora

Large carnivores have always fascinated people. With time scientists made surprising discoveries that wolves, bears and lynx have not been pests, but they have posed an indispensable role in the ecosystem. While the numbers of wolves and lynx increase elsewhere in Europe, the Czech Republic is lagging behind and their numbers are inconsistent. Causa Carnivora documentary seeks an answer to the question of why our country remains an isolated island in the middle of Europe in terms of coexistence with large carnivores. Along with the Wolf Patrols organized by the Friends of the Earth of the Czech Republic, the filmmakers are trying to figure out what prevents large carnivores from returning to our landscape and why we continue to believe in the bloody legends rather than the trustworthy research based on facts.
