You are My Destiny

I think I was fated to love this series. :) And with that, it's clear that I can't be expected to be objective at all. I fell uncontrollably in love by about the third episode and it didn't let go until the end. Quite the opposite, my love grew with each episode. Moreover, it's one of the few series where I've grown to like almost all the characters. There was something special about each of them and they managed to recharge my batteries in every episode. And so I laughed and cried and laughed and cried... And that's what an all-time favorite is all about. I'll never forget Hyeok Jang as Gun. Tell me, what I’m going to do without the snail couple now? I know, I'll be drowning in memories listening to the soundtrack, which is beautiful by the way. 5 stars. (06/09/2014)

It has its beautiful moments, both funny and sad. You eventually get used to Gun's goofy laugh because you find out exactly what he's hiding with it. A good story I'd already seen 4 years ago in the Taiwanese version – this one is much more focused on emotions; the Taiwanese one more on comic aspects. While it made for pleasant viewing, I wouldn't look for more than a bedtime story. Of the songs, only one sticks in my mind, I don't know if there were more. The main couple were a good match, they had their light and dark moments, but I've seen couples with more sparks flying between them. As I wrote before, it’s a good story to unwind with, which has its painful moments, but that's okay because it's still just a fairy tale. Towards the end, I felt the plot was a bit too watered down and could easily have been cut a bit shorter. Otherwise a very nice 3 stars. Not bad. (05/09/2014)
