Un pilote de chasse devient pilote de drone, basé à Las Vegas. Combattant à distance les talibans la journée, il rentre ensuite chez lui en banlieue retrouver sa famille. Mais l'exécutant va commencer à se poser des questions sur sa mission, et se demander dans quelle mesure il ne contribue pas, en tâchant de les éliminer, à créer les nouveaux terroristes d'une guerre sans fin. Niccol bounces back. The problem with pilotless aircraft and their deployment in modern armed conflicts in the sense of cowardliness of states (in this case the USA) who send hellfire from the skies on their enemies was always only addressed very tentatively. Good Kill sits us down in the air-conditioned drone control box to watch butchery committed, defended and also criticized together with the breakdown of a regular guy who spent his whole life following orders. A precise Ethan Hawke, fantastic drone-like camerawork. It ain’t fuckin’ Play Station.

It is clear that war itself is hell. It cannot be doubted that people make it an even greater hell. Much can be disguised in a war conflict. Well, but then there are people who still think a little about what they are actually doing in war. Well, and that can be a problem. Unfortunately, the film does not present it exceptionally well.
