Charleen is nearly 16 and is one of those teens who seem to be drawn to dark and gloomy things; she's got a traineeship at an undertaker's and is passionate about Kurt Cobain. After a botched suicide attempt, she finds herself in the hospital. Now comes real stress: her crazy family, a creepy therapist, a by-the-book social worker, a perplexed best friend and a classroom full of idiots. But there's also Linus, the school nerd whom she meets at the therapist's. Weird but caring, he's interesting and fun to be with. And after her first kiss with Linus and their first tentative embraces, it dawns on Charleen that the opposite of death is love – and that life deserves a second chance. (Zlín Film Festival)

anglais A very nicely and pleasantly made German dramedy about a girl who didn’t have a simple life, and who didn’t make things any easier for herself through her approach to it. But Mark Monheim tells the story of this girl in such a relaxing manner that you will laugh, but also think deeply about how incredibly easy it is to influence a child’s brain without even realizing it. It was a pleasure to find out more about this girl. ()
