Juhannustyttö – Midsummer Girl, set in the Southern Ostrobothnia of Finland, told combining elements of national romanticism and fantasy takes us to a little village getting ready to select and celebrate the girl of the Midsummer. But then everything changes as a stranger arrives and lures her to escape with him to the plains. The girl's groom forms a posse and chases after them into the sunset where the spells and tricks of the Midsummer's night are to be played upon the whole village. Nothing is to be the same when the day finally breaks. (Nurmo-Filmi)
