La distancia

Three Russian dwarves with supernatural powers are hired by a long-suffering Austrian artist to rob 'The Distance', which is hidden in the guarded turbine room of a remote power plant in the Siberian mountains. Caballero's second feature, wrapped in his completely personal style and absurd sense of humour, reveals Andrei Tarkovsky´s classic as a source of inspiration. Classy widescreen cinematography gives the film an old-school feel from 1970's science fiction movies. A brilliantly anarchic take on classic heist movie. (Fresh Film Fest)
